A Christmas Carol
About this show
Jacob's Well Productions return to the Playhouse Theatre again this year with Charles Dickens' beloved classic - A Christmas Carol.
"A squeezing, wrenching, grasping, clutching, covetous old sinner! Hard as flint... solitary as an oyster" Bah! Humbug!
The only thing colder than a Victorian winter is the bitter chill in Ebenezer Scrooge's heart. Both a curmudgeon and a miser, Scrooge retreats from humanity, viewing it as a means to an end - wealth and more money! Yet this Christmas Eve, Scrooge will be shaken from his life of solitude and forced to face the pain of the past, the truth of the present and the tragedies of the future. Can he change his ways before the break of day
or is he truly doomed?
Dickens' timeless tale of redemption explodes into life in this glorious musical adaptation from master composer Alan Menken (Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid, Aladdin). Discover the laughter, the heartbreak and the joy of A Christmas Carol in this wonderful retelling, lovingly brought to life by the ever-innovative and critically acclaimed Jacob's Well, whose previous shows (including Beauty and the Beast, Godspell, The Sound of Music, The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe) have thrilled local audiences for the past 26 years.
Experience the magic of Christmas again, at the start of the 2026 festive season, in this wildly entertaining musical extravaganza which will delight the whole family.
