A Midsummer Night's Dream

About this show

The Gloucestershire Shakespeare Collective are delighted to present a
new immersive, promenade performance of ‘A Midsummer Night’s
Dream’ in a theatrical first for Cheltenham.

Be transported from a royal
Court charged with electric energy and love tangles into a wood where
strange, magical, and musical things happen all around you. Will the
lovers find their way out of the wood? Will Nature return to a calmer
state? Will the workmen fulfil their dream of performing their comical
tragedy, ‘Pyramus and Thisbe,’ in front of the Court?

Join us as you
meet favourite characters such as Bottom and Puck and the ‘whole
Company’ weave their magic throughout the ground floor of this lovely
community theatre in a fully accessible performance that is proudly
presented in association with The Cheltenham Playhouse.

About the Gloucestershire Shakespeare Collective

This Collective was formed in November 2025 to bring together
creatives from both the professional and amateur worlds through
workshops, theory, and play. We aim to present two plays by
Shakespeare every year, with the Company drawn from those of the 40
Collective members who can commit to a professional production at
different times. We have members from all over Gloucestershire and are
a mix of working and amateur actors. We are fully inclusive and always
welcome new members to our workshops and the Collective as a whole.
