However, we can refund tickets (excluding postage and processing fees) if you return them to us and we succesfully resell them after all other seats have been sold, a £2 fee per ticket is charged for this service. Customers must not attempt to resell their own tickets if they have asked the box office to attempt to resell them. Ticket exchanges for a different time/date for the same performance are charged at £2 per ticket.

If customers resell their own tickets or attempt to duplicate them the new patrons may not be permitted entry if there is a booking conflict.

Online bookings are generally subject to a processing fee of 95 p per ticket, although some events (such as free or club activities) may be exempt from this. Restoration Levy Fee

.The Cheltenham Playhouse has existed since 1945, with parts of the building dating back to 1806. Much like us all, age can take its toll. Since 1945 the charity has worked hard to preserve aspects of the historic buildings, whilst providing an arts venue for community groups, artists and audiences. This building is not only of historical interest to our visitors but, we believe, has many stories for future generations.

The Cheltenham Playhouse is one of very few truly independent local venues. The charity is solely responsible for all upkeep and restoration of the Grade II listed building. This work isn’t cheap.

Therefore, we are introducing a Restoration Levy of £1.50p per ticket (for the first 15 tickets per transaction) this is applicable to all online bookings and optional for in person and telephone bookings. This will allow us to maintain and improve the building, for our current visitors and those in the future.

The Restoration Levy allows us to:

Spreading a small cost across a larger group of supporters allows the community to gain funds to support smaller projects and artists that would otherwise be under-supported.

We would also like to take this opportunity to thank you for your continued support of the venue and its visitors. Without your backing The Cheltenham Playhouse would be very different. So, thank you - We hope to see you soon.

The Restoration Levy will be put into place from the 1st September 2023.

If you are in the fortunate position that you are able to contribute further to The Cheltenham Playhouse, additional Donations, with the option of Gift Aid, can be made at the time of booking.

If you wish to learn more about making a significant donation, sponsorship, legacy or other major contribution to the theatre, please contact us at admin@cheltplayhouse.org.uk, where a member of management will be happy to discuss this with you.

The Restoration Levy is applicable to all online tickets. Remember, booking in person or by telephone avoids the 95p ticket processing fee and the Restoration Levy is optional.

Although it can be nice to have tickets in advance, it’s not essential, so please remember postage fees are also avoidable too if you are happy to collect your tickets from the box office prior to or on the day of the performance.

All tickets and booking fees are non-refundable unless due to an error or cancellation that is the responsibility of The Cheltenham Playhouse.
