Tell Tale Heart with Special Guests Steven Berkoff and Stephen Cookson
Steven Berkoff returns to Cheltenham - a master of menace, a classic reborn, with stories to tell.
Few performances can command a stage - or a screen - like Steven Berkoff. In Tell Tale Heart, Edgar Allan Poe's macabre masterpiece is tripped to its bone-chilling essence and reimagined with Berkoff's trademark physicality, precision, and dark humour.
The story is as unsettling as ever: an obsessive narrator, an old man with a "vulture eye", and a murder that unravels into madness. But in Berkoff's hands, it becomes something electric - part confessional, part fever dream, part theatrical tour de force. The result is a claustrophobic, mesmerising experience that fuses gothic horror with the thrill of live performance.
For this special Cheltenham appearance, Berkoff will be joined on stage by director, Stephen Cookson, for a rare and intimate conversation. One of theatre and cinema's great raconteurs, Berkoff will not only discuss the making of Tell Tale Heart but also share stories from his remarkable career - delivering insight, wit, and plenty of surprises.
